Using your Apple watch with Exakt and getting the most out of it

By pairing your Apple watch with Exakt, you can access and follow all your running sessions from your Exakt Plan directly on the Apple Watch Workout App. No need to bring you phone anymore, get all the info you need right on your watch while doing the workout.

Benefits of training with an Apple watch

By connecting your Apple watch with the Exakt App, you can access your Exakt running plan righ within the native Apple Watch Workout App.

Training with the Apple Watch Workout App, you can leave your phone at home and still be guided through the structured Exakt running session via built-in audio and vibration cues from your watch.

At the same time you'll be tracking metrics like heart rate, distance, pace, and calories burned more accurately than before and all accessible at a glance on your wrist while out on the run.

Those metrics will be automatically saved in your Apple Health information and a summary will be share with Exakt.

How to pair your Apple watch

To connect your Apple watch with your Exakt running plan, you need to allow Exakt Access to push workouts to the Apple Watch Workout App and read information from Apple Health. You can do this right from the Exakt App following these easy steps:

  1. Open the Exakt App
  2. Go to the App settings
  3. Open the "Smartwatch" and then "Apple Watch" settings
  4. Click on "Workout App" to connect your Apple watch
  5. Confirm the connection by clicking on "Allow" in the dialogue that will be triggered
  6. Then click on "Sync with Apple Health".
  7. Select "Turn On All" and confirm the connection by clicking on "Allow" on the dialogue that pops up.

You're all set. Now your scheduled running workouts will be automatically sent from your Exakt App to the Apple Watch Workout App.

Start an Exakt running workout on the Apple Watch Workout App

To start your running workout from the Apple Watch, follow these easy steps:

1. On your Apple Watch, open the Workout App.

2. You'll see a new section at the top called "Exakt".

3. If you have a running workout scheduled for today, you can start it right there.

4. If you want to start a workout from the next 7 days, click on "Exakt" and then on "Show more" to see all future workouts.

To preview a workout before starting it, click on the 3 dots on the top right of each workout.

Follow an Exakt running workout on the Apple Watch Workout App

Once you've started a workout, you can navigate through the workout with the usual gestures that you might know from other Apple Workouts:

You'll be automatically guided through the workout with audio cues and vibration when you reach the time or distance of your current step.

On the main screen you'll find all the essential metrics such as time, pace of the current interval, time or distance to finish the current step as well as heart rate. To see more metrics, you can scroll down.

Swipe to the left to find the controls to stop, continue or exit a workout. You can also skip to the next step of the structured running workout here.

By swiping right, you can control your media player if you're currently playing music.

Complete workouts in the Exakt App

Workouts completed on your watch are stored in your Apple Health Data and a summary of the workout is automatically shared back with the Exakt App when you open it. The respective workout is also marked as completed in the Exakt App. You can click on the workout to view your summary data.
