It’s free to join the study!

It’s really simple. Once you’re selected, you’ll be assessed via video call by our specialist sports physio, Maryke Louw. This is to ensure that it’s safe for you to use the App’s treatment plans.

Then you just need to download the Exakt Health app and start your treatment program.

You’ll be sent questionnaires to assess your progress at 4, 8 and 12 weeks after starting your treatment plan.

You can ask questions any time via email or by joining the study’s private Facebook Group.

The study will take 12 weeks to complete.

  • You’ll book a date and time that suits you and receive a confirmation email that contains a Zoom link.
  • Join the Zoom meeting at the appropriate time.
  • Maryke will first ask you some questions to get a deeper understanding of your injury and symptoms, your lifestyle and your goals. This is followed by a physical examination.
  • The physical examination will consist of two parts:
    • Maryke will demonstrate specific movement tests and then ask you to repeat them. The tests are similar to the ones used in regular physiotherapy clinics and will help to establish the extent of your injury as well as test your muscle strength, flexibility and control.
    • She will then guide you through a palpation examination and get you to examine different parts of your body by hand to distinguish between different ligaments, muscles and bones.
  • At the end of the consultation she’ll explain what to do next.
